Entry-level (student/intern). Bachelor's students: 0β1 years of hands-on physical design experience typical; Master's candidates: no prior professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include supporting signal integrity tasks across package and platform designs and participating in verification and signoff activities.
- Assist physical implementation of package and platform designs, focusing on signal integrity of high-speed interconnects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design scalability, automation, and manufacturability.
- Conduct signal integrity analysis, noise/glitch evaluation, and physical design optimization.
- Support verification and signoff activities to meet performance and manufacturing standards.
- Apply theoretical knowledge in practical projects and document analysis results.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and logistical requirements for initial consideration.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Available to work at least 22.5 hours per week and committed to remain in the position for a minimum of 1 year.
- Unrestricted permanent right to work in Costa Rica.
- Ability to work assigned shifts (Shift 1) and participate in a hybrid work model as required.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with electrical simulation tools (Sigrity PowerSI, SiWave, Hspice, Matlab, Ansys HFSS).
- Familiarity with PCB design and circuit simulators.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Education Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with at least 50% of courses completed, or pursuing a Master's degree in the same field. Bachelor's candidates typically have 0β1 years of hands-on physical design experience (internships, coursework, projects); Master's candidates may require no prior professional experience. Completion of at least 1β2 courses in electrical/electromagnetic fundamentals and a minimum 80% GPA are required.
