Job Title
Signal Integrity & Power Integrity Engineer
Role Summary
Lead the design, verification, and optimization of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) across silicon, IC package, and board-level architectures for high-speed platforms. Deliver end-to-end SI/PI solutions for advanced packages, validation boards, and development kits while collaborating with silicon architects, package engineers, and board teams.
Focus areas include high-speed SERDES, die-to-die interconnects, memory interfaces, FPGA fabric, electrical modeling and extraction, simulation methodology, and debugging complex multi-domain interconnect issues.
Experience Level
Senior β the posting references senior-level experience (the description cites both 8+ years and 10+ years of industry experience).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this role include design leadership, simulation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead end-to-end SI/PI design for IC packages, validation platforms, and development kits to meet electrical performance and reliability targets.
- Define and deploy SI/PI simulation methodologies using advanced EDA tools and AI-assisted techniques.
- Perform detailed simulation, post-layout analysis, and trade-off studies for package and board designs.
- Establish SI/PI design rules and review layouts to ensure scalable, manufacturable solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve system-level SI/PI challenges across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing domains.
- Collaborate with silicon, package, and board teams to balance performance, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Drive forward-looking SI/PI technologies and methodologies to support future product architectures.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience; nice-to-have items are listed separately.
-
Must-have: 8β10+ years of hands-on SI/PI engineering experience across silicon, package, and board-level designs.
-
Must-have: Deep expertise in high-speed digital interfaces, SI fundamentals, and power delivery network behavior.
-
Must-have: Proficiency with industry-standard simulation and modeling tools (examples: ANSYS HFSS, Synopsys HSPICE, Cadence Sigrity, Keysight ADS or equivalent).
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with silicon/package/board layout and design tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Cadence Allegro).
-
Must-have: Strong analytical skills to correlate simulation, design, and measurement data and to solve complex multi-domain problems methodically.
-
Nice-to-have: Scripting and automation experience (Python, MATLAB or similar).
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with AI-driven methodologies, design-of-experiments (DOE), heterogeneous packaging, and system-level debugging involving thermal/mechanical/manufacturing constraints.
Education Requirements
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; strong foundation in electromagnetics, circuit analysis, and signal processing is expected.
