Job Title

Signal Integrity Engineer - MTS

Role Summary

Design and validate high-speed signaling and power solutions for advanced memory and interconnect products (HBM, GDDR, LPDDR, DDR5/DDR6, PCIe Gen7). Work on interconnect and signaling research, channel and package enhancements, and modeling improvements across Signal Integrity, Circuit/Chip Design, Packaging R&D, System Integration, and Product Engineering.

Contribute to lab measurement, simulation, and standardization activities; mentor junior engineers and collaborate with customers and partners.

Experience Level

Mid-level engineer. Role expects advanced hands-on experience in signal and power integrity and mixed-signal circuit builds; typical experience guidance from the posting implies five to ten+ years of relevant industry experience depending on academic background.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include engineering development, validation, and research tasks:

  • Develop and optimize signal and power integrity designs for high-speed memory and interface products.
  • Perform interconnect and channel research, including channel equalization and new interconnect techniques.
  • Reduce circuit power through design and encoding techniques.
  • Build and validate models and simulation flows; improve modeling methodologies across the SI group.
  • Perform lab measurements and debugging using oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA, and related equipment.
  • Use 3D EM solvers and time-/frequency-domain simulators to support design and verification.
  • Participate in interface standardization efforts and engage with customers/partners as needed.
  • Mentor and share knowledge with junior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Degree requirements are listed separately in Education Requirements below.

  • Strong background in signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) engineering.
  • Hands-on mixed-signal circuit build experience.
  • Experience with 3D electromagnetic field solvers and scripting environments (e.g., MATLAB).
  • Proficiency with time- and frequency-domain simulation tools (examples: HFSS, HSPICE, Spectre, ADS).
  • Practical lab experience with oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA, and related test equipment.
  • Ability to apply AI/ML/large language models to improve productivity and engineering workflows.
  • Strong technical communication skills and ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with package/channel enhancements, participation in standards bodies, and customer-facing collaboration.

Education Requirements

Posting specifies either a PhD plus 5 years of industry experience or an MSEE plus 10 years of industry experience; equivalent practical experience is accepted in lieu of degree. (Degree examples noted: PhD, MSEE.)
