Signal Integrity Engineer

Role Summary

Work on signal- and power-integrity analysis and sign-off for Broadcom ASIC products, focused on parallel interfaces across IC, package, interposer and PCB domains. Collaborate with R&D, IP teams, customers and manufacturing partners to develop interconnect technologies for MCM, 2.5D and 3D products.

Experience Level

Senior — position expects substantial industry experience (see Education Requirements for years-of-experience guidance).

Responsibilities

Deliver SI/PI analysis, modeling and sign-off for parallel interfaces and support related customer and internal activities.

• Mask-based timing signoff using time-domain simulations (SPICE, etc.) for parallel interfaces, including 2.5D and 3D.
• Electromagnetic extraction and modeling of signal and power delivery channels for PCB, package and interposers.
• AC and transient analysis of power distribution networks (PDN).
• IO channel analysis and pre-layout modeling of transceivers and PDN networks.
• Automate sign-off processes and collaborate with EDA vendors to improve tool accuracy and flows.
• Generate analysis results, sign-off reports and presentations; support pre-sales and customer engagements.

• Must-have: Demonstrated experience with SI/PI sign-off flows (e.g., DDR/LPDDR and/or HBM) and mask-based timing signoff.
• TCL and Python scripting to automate routine analysis and sign-off tasks.
• Experience with EM extraction tools and various IC, package and PCB database formats.
• Experience performing AC/transient PDN analysis and IO channel analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple customers and projects under tight timelines; strong documentation and presentation skills.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with MCM, 2.5D/3D interconnect technologies, transceiver modeling, and pre-sales support.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering plus 12+ years of related experience, OR Master’s degree in those fields plus 10+ years of related experience.
