Signal Integrity and PCB Design Engineer
NVIDIAJob Title
Signal Integrity and PCB Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join NVIDIA's signal integrity (SI) team to design and verify high-speed PCB and system-level interfaces. The role focuses on PCB stackup and material selection, SI/PI analysis, measurement, and collaboration with package and board design teams to meet performance and manufacturability targets.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early-career. Minimum 2+ years of experience as a signal integrity / power integrity engineer is expected.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include design, simulation, measurement, and cross-team integration to ensure reliable high-speed board performance.
- Lead SI design activities, PCB stackup design, material selection, and implementation of design guidelines.
- Perform post-layout SI analysis and system-level signal integrity simulation for interfaces such as PCIe, LPDDR/DDR/GDDR, MIPI, HDMI, and USB.
- Analyze and optimize power delivery networks (PDN) on PCBs.
- Collaborate with package and PCB design teams to craft solutions for system SI/PI performance.
- Conduct TDR and VNA measurements for PCB/package material characterization and model correlation.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a signal integrity / power integrity engineer.
- Deep understanding of electromagnetics, transmission-line theory, and channel components.
- Experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Designer & Constraints Manager or equivalent PCB stackup/design tools.
- Familiarity with impacts of high-volume PCB manufacturing on channel signal integrity.
- Experience designing SI channel solutions for industry-standard interfaces (PCIe, DRAM variants, MIPI, HDMI, USB).
- Hands-on experience with HFSS, Sigrity, Hspice, or similar industry-standard simulation tools.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with SI/PI sign-off at the platform level.
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and how material choices affect SI performance.
- Familiarity with high-speed transmitter/receiver design and equalization schemes.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent practical experience. (The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.)
