Signal and Power Integrity Engineer

Role Summary

Perform signal- and power-integrity analysis, EM simulation, and validation for high-speed package, PCB and system designs. Work closely with silicon, packaging, PCB layout, and validation teams to deliver robust, manufacturable products.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform SI and PI analysis for high-speed package, PCB and system-level designs.
• Conduct 2D and 3D EM simulations to evaluate interconnect performance and mitigate crosstalk, impedance mismatch, and loss.
• Analyze and optimize power distribution networks (power plane design, decoupling strategies, IR drop).
• Execute frequency-domain and time-domain simulations for high-speed interfaces.
• Run channel and system-level simulations using tools such as ADS and HSpice.
• Provide SI/PI guidance during design reviews, layout, and ECO cycles.
• Correlate simulation results with lab measurements and support debug activities.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Collaborate with PCB layout, hardware, packaging, and validation teams to ensure designs are manufacturable.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Strong fundamentals in electromagnetics, transmission lines, and microwave theory.
• Hands-on experience with EM simulation tools such as ANSYS HFSS, SI-Wave, Cadence Power-SI.
• Experience with circuit analysis and simulators: ADS, HSpice; proficiency with IBIS/Spice models.
• Experience in PDN modelling and power plane analysis.
• Working knowledge of package and PCB technologies including stack-up analysis and DFM.
• Solid understanding of high-speed signalling in time and frequency domains.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Hands-on lab measurement experience (VNA, oscilloscopes, TDR, spectrum analyzers).
• Experience with test automation and scripting (Python, MATLAB, or similar).
