SiC R&D Power Semiconductor Project Manager
Role Summary
Lead and manage R&D programs to develop wide bandgap (SiC) power semiconductor devices from concept through production ramp at Vishay's Newport site. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and business teams to deliver products that meet technical, schedule, cost, and quality targets.
The role focuses on program management of technology and product development in a laboratory-to-production environment.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience, with prior program management or product development roles.
Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate end-to-end development programs and stakeholder communication.
- Plan, implement, and report progress of power semiconductor product development to meet technical and business objectives.
- Manage program schedules to meet critical milestones and customer commitments.
- Coordinate cross-functional R&D and production teams to execute new product development from concept to production ramp.
- Collaborate with functional and management teams to meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication, conflict resolution, task prioritization, and key program decision-making.
- Coordinate stakeholders (marketing, engineering, operations) from initial requirements definition through manufacturing ramp.
Requirements
Core technical and program-management skills required; preferred items noted.
- Must have: Demonstrable background in power semiconductor materials, device physics, and fabrication processes.
- Must have: 10+ years in the semiconductor industry with prior program management or product development experience (product, test, or device engineering).
- Must have: Experience using project-management tools and managing program schedules and milestones.
- Must have: Strong technical and analytical skills and effective written and verbal communication (presentations and technical reports).
- Preferred: Experience in power devices product development.
- Preferred: Experience with industrial and/or automotive industry standards.
Education Requirements
Degree in electrical engineering, materials science, or a related technical field.
