Job Title

Server SoC Security Architect

Role Summary

Design and define system-level security architecture for Qualcomm Snapdragon Server SoCs used in data center and compute platforms. The role spans hardware, firmware, and software, and interfaces with product management, customers, partners, and engineering teams to deliver secure platform solutions.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role requires extensive industry experience in SoC security architecture and compute/data-center SoC architecture (guidance: typically 10+ years in SoC security and 5+ years in compute/data-center SoC architecture as reflected in the posting).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining security requirements, specifying architecture, and evaluating platform security.

  • Establish hardware and software system security requirements for Server SoC focusing on functionality, performance, and security levels.
  • Specify and review architecture and implementation of system/SoC security mechanisms.
  • Conduct platform security threat analysis and HW/SW threat modeling.
  • Perform competitive analysis of security systems and features.
  • Explore and evaluate future server security technologies and roadmap items.
  • Serve as the technical interface to product management, standards teams, and external partners.
  • Create and present architecture-level documentation to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for successful performance in the role.

  • 10+ years industry experience in SoC security encompassing architecture and design (experience-focused requirement; degree details listed under Education Requirements).
  • 5+ years experience in Compute and/or Data Center SoC Architecture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in security technologies: Root of Trust, TEE, access control, I/O security, SoC/HW isolation.
  • Proficiency in confidential compute architectures and technologies (examples: RME, TDX, SEV-SNP, related approaches).
  • Strong understanding of security software architecture for compute and data centers, including secure boot and lifecycle management.
  • Skilled in hardware/software threat analysis and platform attestation/measurement concepts.
  • Proven ability to produce and present architecture-level documentation and to interface across HW/SW teams and product management.
  • Nice-to-have: applied cryptography and protocols, isolation-related extensions (e.g., TZ, virtualization, RME), leadership or project management experience.

Education Requirements

One of the following: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 6+ years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration or related experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 5+ years of related experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years of related experience. (The posting presents degree-based alternatives rather than a single required degree.)
