Job Title

Server Project Engineer

Role Summary

Lead engineering execution for Qualcomm's data-center server SoC program, managing planning and delivery across architecture, design, validation, silicon test, and commercialization. Work as the project lead coordinating cross-functional teams to meet performance, power, area (PPA), schedule, and cost targets.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on complex, high-performance, low-power server SoC development at advanced process nodes.

Experience Level

Level: Senior. Minimum experience ranges from approximately 6–8+ years depending on degree (see Education Requirements for degree-specific guidance); preferred candidates often have 10+ years and prior technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end project execution and cross-team delivery of a server chipset.

  • Plan and drive project phases from concept through commercialization, ensuring milestones and KPIs are met.
  • Oversee chipset development across functional domains and ensure PPA, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate technical and program risks; resolve cross-subsystem engineering issues.
  • Coordinate cross-functional leads (architecture, HW, SW, validation, test, power/thermal) to achieve convergence.
  • Drive process and methodology improvements to close gaps and meet specifications.
  • Lead post-silicon activities including validation, silicon characterization, power/thermal convergence, and compliance efforts.
  • Provide supervision and technical leadership to engineers; communicate program status to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.

  • Extensive experience with server SoC architecture, design, validation, and commercialization.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and resolve complex system-level issues.
  • Experience with post-silicon validation, silicon test, power and thermal convergence, and chipset compliance activities.
  • Strong program management skills: risk identification, trade-off analysis, scheduling, and KPI tracking (PPA, cost).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present technical status to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with ARM architecture and related SoC development.
  • Preferred: background in hyperscale data center solutions and experience across multiple SoC functional areas (memory, interconnects, CPUs, chiplet infrastructure, power management, DFX).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years' relevant experience; OR Master's in those fields with 7+ years' relevant experience; OR PhD in those fields with 6+ years' relevant experience. Preferred candidates may hold a Master’s with ~15 years in semiconductor product development. The posting allows equivalent related work experience in lieu of degree-based timelines.
