Role Summary
Lead architect for firmware on RISC-V server platforms, responsible for BIOS, supervisor-mode firmware (OpenSBI), microcontroller platform firmware, and BMC integration. Work across firmware, system software, hardware architects, and standards groups to integrate firmware with SiFive server designs and emulation platforms.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include implementing and integrating low-level firmware for server platforms and supporting system bring-up and validation.
- Develop and maintain TianoCore/EDK-II BIOS implementations.
- Implement and integrate OpenSBI and other M-mode firmware components.
- Develop platform microcontroller (bare-metal) firmware for reference designs.
- Design and integrate BMC software environments to work with server platforms.
- Produce and debug ACPI tables and AML code; manage Devicetree and UEFI interactions.
- Debug firmware and platform issues on FPGA and emulation systems, working with system validation teams.
- Collaborate with hardware architects and RTL engineers to ensure firmware/system compatibility.
- Contribute to and review platform and system specifications; engage with standards communities as needed.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Experience developing and maintaining EDK-II/TianoCore firmware.
- Experience writing and debugging ACPI tables and AML code.
- Knowledge of ACPI, UEFI, and Devicetree.
- Familiarity with DMTF manageability standards.
- Experience developing bare-metal microcontroller code.
- Experience developing and debugging software on FPGA and emulation platforms.
- Experience reviewing and writing technical specifications.
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable C code.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with the RISC-V architecture.
- Experience with OpenBMC or other BMC software environments.
- Experience with Rust, system power management, or PCIe.
- Experience using hardware debuggers, virtualization, or working directly with RTL engineers and standards groups.
