Role Summary
Join AMD's Server Customer Engineering team as a Systems Debug Engineer focused on customer-facing silicon and system validation, debug, and root-cause resolution. The role works with customers and cross-functional AMD teams to reproduce, analyze, and resolve complex hardware and firmware issues.
Primary areas include RAS, PCIe/CXL, memory, MCA/MCE, and microcontroller-related failures during post-silicon validation, bring-up, and production support.

Responsibilities
Deliver customer-facing debug and validation support across silicon and systems; collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Work with customers to diagnose and resolve failures related to RAS, PCIe, Memory, MCA, CXL and micro-controller subsystems.
- Use debug tools (scripts, protocol analyzers, SCAN, JTAG) to narrow root causes.
- Provide validation and debug recommendations for new features and customer platforms.
- Debug issues during bring-up, validation, production, and field support phases.
- Coordinate cross-functional task forces and collaborate with global AMD teams.
- Engage with software, hardware and design teams to drive fixes and mitigations.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and constraints are listed below; preferred items are noted.
- Experience with RAS validation and debug.
- PCIe/CXL functional and protocol debug (Gen1–Gen6), including IP bring-up and analysis.
- Memory functional and protocol validation or debug.
- MCA/MCE (machine check architecture/exception) validation and debug.
- Post-silicon validation and debug methodologies.
- Proficiency with debug tools and test equipment such as protocol analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Programming or scripting experience (Python required; familiarity with C++, Perl, Ruby is a plus).
- Strong debugging techniques and methodologies.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
