Job Title

Sensor Subsystem Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, implement, and verify sensor subsystem IP and components for mobile and compute platforms, as part of the Infra‑Sensors team contributing to Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Work across architecture, software, verification, and SoC integration teams to deliver low‑power, high‑performance subsystem solutions.

Experience Level

Senior level (role is open to Engineer and Senior Engineer candidates). See Education Requirements for experience equivalencies.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, RTL development, verification support, and cross‑team integration for sensor subsystem IP.

  • Contribute to design and development of ASIC and subsystem components.
  • Develop RTL and support verification and validation activities.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions; document design decisions.
  • Debug and resolve design issues through the development cycle.
  • Collaborate with architecture, verification, software, and SoC integration teams.
  • Support implementation of low‑power design methodologies and industry AMBA protocols.
  • Continuously develop technical expertise in sensor subsystem technologies and semiconductor design methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and workplace competencies.

  • ASIC design and RTL development experience using Verilog/SystemVerilog or VHDL.
  • Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals and computer architecture concepts.
  • Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AHB, AXI, APB) and low‑power design concepts (UPF methodologies).
  • Experience with lint, CDC analysis tools, and simulation/debug tools (e.g., Verdi or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to debug complex designs.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work in a global, cross‑functional team.
  • Ability to learn quickly and contribute in a dynamic environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in Science or Engineering.
