Senior VLSI Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the verification team at proteanTecs to develop scalable, reusable verification environments for complex IP and SoC integration. You will design and run comprehensive tests, drive coverage closure, and collaborate with design, architecture, and firmware teams to ensure functional correctness.

Experience Level

Senior — 5+ years of VLSI verification experience expected.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on building verification infrastructure, executing tests, debugging, and improving team methodology.

• Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments that are scalable and reusable across multiple IPs.
• Design, implement, and execute testbenches and randomized test suites to validate functionality and corner cases within SoC contexts.
• Define, collect, and analyze code and functional coverage; identify verification gaps and drive coverage closure to sign-off.
• Lead debug and root-cause analysis using logs, waveform inspection, and assertions in collaboration with design and verification engineers.
• Work closely with architecture, design, and firmware teams to ensure verification completeness and alignment with design intent.
• Contribute to methodology and infrastructure improvements, including reusable UVM components and automation scripts.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.

• Proven expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Strong software development skills to create reusable verification components and utilities.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and drive verification projects to completion.
• Effective communicator with a structured, detail-oriented approach to problem solving and team collaboration.

Preferred / nice-to-have:

• Experience with Git, Python, code templating, and open-source verification workflows.
• Familiarity with full-chip aspects (reset architecture/sequences, power domains and modes).
• Firmware verification experience, including emulation-based verification on FPGA.
• Experience with formal verification or mixed-signal simulation.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
