Senior VLSI Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain advanced verification environments and testbenches for complex IP and SoC integration. Work within the verification team to ensure functional correctness, coverage closure, and seamless collaboration with design, architecture, and firmware teams.

Experience Level

Senior - minimum 5+ years of VLSI verification experience, with solid expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building scalable verification environments, driving coverage closure, and leading debug efforts.

• Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments and reusable components across multiple IPs.
• Design, implement, and execute testbenches and randomized test suites to validate functionality and corner cases.
• Define, collect, and analyze code and functional coverage; identify verification gaps and drive closure.
• Lead debug and root-cause analysis using logs, waveform analysis, and assertions.
• Collaborate with architecture, design, and firmware teams to ensure verification completeness and correct integration.
• Contribute to methodology and infrastructure improvements, including automation and reusable UVM components.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills followed by advantageous skills.

• Must-have: 5+ years of VLSI verification experience; proven expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Must-have: Strong software development skills for building reusable verification components and utilities.
• Must-have: Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills; ability to prioritize and drive verification projects to completion.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Git, Python, and code templating; familiarity with open-source verification workflows.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with full-chip verification topics (reset architecture, power domains and modes).
• Nice-to-have: Firmware verification experience (including emulation on FPGA); formal verification or mixed-signal simulation experience.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
