Job Title
Senior VLSI Physical Design Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Lead integration of RTL and netlists through physical implementation for NVIDIA networking products, collaborating with front-end, timing, and physical-design teams across the USA, Israel, and India.
Work spans synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, verification (LVS/DRC), formal checks, and tool/flow automation to deliver tapeout-ready GDSII.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of experience in VLSI physical design implementation on advanced process nodes (16nm, 7nm, 5nm, or 3nm).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include integration, verification, and automation across the RTL-to-GDS flow.
- Run integration flows to build RTL, perform connectivity checks, and assemble logical units.
- Perform linting and debug RTL and netlist-level issues; implement fixes with front-end teams.
- Manage project-level cell libraries to ensure cross-workflow compatibility.
- Run synthesis flows and optimize for area, power, and timing.
- Execute physical design flow from netlist to GDS; perform STA, LVS, and DRC.
- Run netlist checks and formal equivalence validation.
- Improve tool automation, streamline workflows, and document best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on VLSI physical design implementation experience on 16nm, 7nm, 5nm, or 3nm technologies.
- Proven experience with synthesis, place-and-route (P&R), timing closure and signoff, and STA.
- Experience with physical verification flows (LVS, DRC) and formal equivalence/netlist checks.
- Skilled at debugging RTL and netlist issues and working with front-end teams to deliver physically-viable netlists.
- Experience developing and debugging design flows and enhancing tool automation and workflows.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with networking product designs or tapeout projects.
- Experience managing cell libraries across multiple workflows and teams.
- Experience collaborating across geographically distributed teams (e.g., USA, Israel, India).
Education Requirements
BSEE or MSEE, or equivalent practical experience.
