Senior VLSI Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Work on SoC-level integration and automation for complex ASICs, focusing on RTL integration, chip build, padring design/verification, and chip delivery. The role requires close collaboration with Functional Design, DFT, Design Verification, System Verification, STA, Physical Design, CAD, Package, and Software teams.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 7+ years of chip/ASIC design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include driving chip-level integration, ensuring design readiness for physical implementation, and contributing to flow automation and deployment.
- Implement and integrate chip-level design through cross-functional collaboration (Functional Design, DFT, DV, System Verification, STA, Physical Design).
- Perform partitioning, clock/domain crossing (CDC) and reset domain crossing (RDC) analysis and remediation.
- Run trial synthesis and design quality checks; identify and resolve design-quality issues.
- Lead functional and structural debug activities and support emulation readiness.
- Contribute to development, validation, and deployment of integration flows and automation.
- Coordinate with package, firmware, and other internal teams to deliver integrated silicon.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and productive team behaviors; listed nice-to-have items are indicated.
- Must: Hands-on RTL design skills in SystemVerilog.
- Must: Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or Tcl).
- Must: Proven ASIC/SoC integration experience, including CDC/RDC handling, partitioning, trial synthesis, and design-quality verification.
- Must: Experience working with STA and Physical Design to achieve tapeout readiness.
- Must: Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience delivering to physical design, emulation, firmware, or other downstream customers; experience with padring design/verification and SOC design automation tools.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (B.SC./M.SC. in EE/CE).
