Job Title
Senior VLSI Engineer
Role Summary
Physical Design Engineer on the Networking Silicon engineering team responsible for implementing high-speed communication device blocks to meet strict power, area, and performance targets. The role covers RTL-to-GDS physical implementation and cross-team integration for complex, high-cell-count designs.
Experience Level
Senior β 5+ years of relevant physical design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Perform physical design of blocks according to specifications under strict power, area, and performance constraints.
- Work on a variety of designs including high-cell-count and high-speed blocks, resolving complex timing and congestion issues.
- Execute RTL-to-GDS flow tasks: synthesis, power and clock distribution, place-and-route, timing closure, power and noise analysis, and physical verification.
- Contribute to development and improvement of physical design flows and automation.
- Collaborate with RTL design, verification, and CAD teams to integrate blocks into the full-chip implementation.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant VLSI physical design experience.
- Proven experience with RTL-to-GDS flows and methodologies.
- Knowledge of place-and-route (PNR), static timing analysis (STA), and physical verification practices.
- Deep understanding of physical construction and block integration.
- Experience with LVS/DRC physical-design verification methodology.
- Familiarity with EDA physical-design tools (Synopsys, Cadence, or similar).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
