Senior VLSI Engineer
Role Summary
Senior VLSI Engineer on the Israel hardware team responsible for physical implementation and verification of digital designs for AI and compute platforms. Deliver high-performance silicon by driving RTL-to-GDS physical implementation, integration, validation, and performance optimization.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (software, system, and test) and mentor junior engineers to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 8+ years of experience in hardware build and development.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include implementation, integration, validation, and optimization of digital hardware for high-performance systems.
- Perform physical build top-level implementation from RTL through GDS.
- Integrate and validate hardware components with system and software teams.
- Develop and execute testing and validation plans to ensure performance and manufacturability.
- Analyze and optimize system and timing performance to meet project requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware issues and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements and ensure successful implementation.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, promote best practices in physical design flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 8+ years of experience in hardware build and development.
- Proven experience with physical build top-level implementation and RTL-to-GDS flows.
- Strong scripting capabilities for automation and tooling.
- Expertise in high-speed digital design and signal integrity considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to debug and resolve complex hardware problems.
- Experience working with software and system teams to enable integration.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineering team members.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
