Senior — minimum 10 years of experience in CAD/EDA tool development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining high-capacity chip design and visualization tools.
- Design, develop, review, test, and support VLSI CAD and visualization applications.
- Write well-designed, high-quality code for desktop engineering tools.
- Contribute to system and software architecture decisions.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams worldwide to define requirements and deliver features.
- Participate in Agile development practices and CI/CD workflows.
- Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the workflow.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in CAD/EDA tool development.
- Expert knowledge of CAD data structures and algorithms for physical VLSI design automation.
- Expert-level programming skills in C++, Java, or C#.
- Proficiency with modern development platforms and tooling (e.g. C++20, Java 21, git, IDEs, unit test frameworks, CI/CD).
- Strong software system architecture and object-oriented design skills.
- Experience using AI-based code assistant tools.
- Able to adapt to evolving project scope and team needs.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience building large-scale design automation tools.
- Performance analysis and tuning experience.
- Knowledge of at least one physical CAD data model and VLSI chip design concepts.
Education Requirements
MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
