Job Title

Senior Verification Engineer, Switch SoC

Role Summary

Work on verification of next-generation switch system-on-chip (SoC) designs in a growing networking chip design team. The role focuses on defining verification scope, building verification infrastructure, and validating SoC correctness for high-speed communication blocks.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting requests candidates with 4+ years of design verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include functional verification of switch SoC architecture and micro-architecture, building models, and validating design correctness at block and SoC level.

  • Verify switch design architecture and micro-architecture using advanced methodologies.
  • Build reference models and verify/simulate chip blocks and entities against specifications.
  • Define verification scope, develop verification infrastructure, test plans, and test cases.
  • Validate correctness of designs at the SoC level.
  • Collaborate closely with Architecture, Micro-Architecture, and Firmware teams.
  • Apply sophisticated verification methodologies such as e-specman and SystemVerilog UVM.

Requirements

Must-have skills and technologies needed to perform the role; a short list of differentiators follows as nice-to-have items.

  • Must-have: Strong verification fundamentals with 4+ years of experience in design verification.
  • Must-have: Experience with RTL languages and tools (Verilog/SystemVerilog or equivalent) and simulation environments (Cadence or equivalent).
  • Must-have: Familiarity with hardware debug tools (examples: Indago, GDB).
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Perl, Python, or shell).
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience with Ethernet or InfiniBand switches, smartNICs/DPUs, or other high-speed interconnects.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong debugging, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

BS (or equivalent practical experience) or MS; the posting allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Specific fields of study were not specified.
