Job Title

Senior Verification Engineer, PCIE

Role Summary

Verify ASIC designs and implementations of next-generation PCI Express controllers used in GPUs and SoCs. The role focuses on IP/sub-system verification, verification infrastructure, and collaborating with architects, designers, and silicon teams to ensure design correctness.

Position is based in Bengaluru and works within a global engineering team delivering verification for high-performance computing and AI products.

Experience Level

Senior-level; the posting requests 5+ years of relevant verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities and building reusable verification components.

  • Define verification scope, develop test plans, and implement tests for PCIe controllers at IP and sub-system levels.
  • Build reusable bus functional models, monitors, checkers, and scoreboards following coverage-driven verification methodology.
  • Develop and maintain verification infrastructure and golden models; run simulations and debug issues.
  • Verify architecture, micro-architecture, and implementation against specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, pre-silicon and post-silicon verification teams to close issues and validate design fixes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role.

  • 5+ years of relevant verification experience working at Unit/Sub-system/SoC level.
  • Expertise in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with comprehensive verification of IP or interconnect protocols (for example PCIe, USB, SATA).
  • Experience developing and working in functional-coverage based constrained-random verification environments.
  • Familiarity with DV methodologies such as UVM or VMM and exposure to industry-standard verification tools for simulation and debug.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills; ability to debug complex RTL and protocol issues.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills to work across distributed engineering teams.

Education Requirements

B.Tech or M.Tech, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-have

Additional skills that strengthen a candidate's profile.

  • Deep knowledge of PCIe protocol (Gen3 and above).
  • Understanding of system-level architecture for PCIe/CXL-based designs.
  • Scripting or software experience in Perl, Python, or similar languages.
