Senior Verification Engineer - Hardware

Role Summary

Senior Verification Engineer on the Emulation team responsible for emulation-based SoC verification, emulator bring-up, and root-cause debug of processor/SoC test failures and emulator environment issues. The role requires close collaboration with design, DV, power, silicon validation, performance, and software teams and working with emulation vendors to resolve issues.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include operating and improving emulation verification flows and supporting SoC bring-up on emulation platforms:

  • Support multiple emulation environments and advanced emulation techniques (C/C++ DPI transactors, SystemVerilog assertions, coverage, power estimation, speed bridges, accelerated UVM testbenches).
  • Bring up SoCs on emulation and perform root-cause analysis of test failures and emulator environment issues.
  • Develop, run, and maintain UVM testbenches and verification infrastructure.
  • Collaborate across design, DV, power, silicon validation, performance, and software teams to debug system-level issues.
  • Lead and coordinate with emulation vendors and third-party partners to diagnose and resolve problems.

Requirements

Required technical skills and experience:

  • Proficient in Verilog and/or VHDL, C/C++, and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with UVM verification environments.
  • Scripting experience with Perl and/or Python; comfortable automating flows with C/C++ tools.
  • Familiar with hierarchical, top-down design methodologies and SoC/system-level verification.
  • Experience debugging complex emulation and verification environments and working with external vendors.
  • Ability to work onsite at the Santa Clara, CA office.

Education Requirements

M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
