Senior Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Senior Verification Engineer on the Solution Engineering team responsible for verifying RTL for Arm-based SoCs. The role ensures new and existing features meet architectural and quality requirements through verification planning, environment development, coverage closure and debugging.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 5+ years of IP, subsystem, or SoC verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with RTL designers and architects to understand specifications and microarchitecture.
- Create and improve validation environments, including stimulus generation, checking, and coverage infrastructure.
- Develop and execute verification plans and test plans.
- Implement verification strategies in partnership with other verification engineers.
- Drive functional and code coverage closure.
- Debug and resolve complex design and verification issues.
- Improve verification methodologies, infrastructure, and protocols.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog.
- Experience with UVM or other industry-standard verification methodologies.
- Experience developing constrained-random verification environments and reusable verification components.
- Experience developing verification strategies and test protocols.
- Understanding of SoC verification flows, including integration of software elements.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration across distributed teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Arm-based designs or Arm system architectures.
- Experience with AMBA protocols (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB).
- Experience with JTAG/SWD/TAP debug infrastructures.
- Experience with CDC/RDC and power-aware verification; exposure to UPF/CPF and low-power techniques.
- Familiarity with DFT concepts such as scan and MBIST.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
