Job Title

Senior Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior individual-contributor in Arm's Solutions Engineering Technology and IP team based in Bengaluru. Own verification of significant IP features or functional areas, define verification strategies and plans, and coordinate with architecture, design, firmware, and SoC integration teams to deliver production-ready IP.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires a minimum of 8 years of professional verification or related experience. Arm also hires across multiple levels; more junior verification roles at 4+ years are available.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for a senior verification engineer include:

  • Define and own verification strategies, test plans, and coverage models for IP and major features.
  • Design, build and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments, agents, scoreboards, reference models, assertions, and coverage.
  • Create constrained-random, directed, protocol-compliance, error-injection, low-power, and performance tests.
  • Drive functional, code, assertion, and scenario coverage to closure and sign-off.
  • Debug complex failures across RTL, testbench, firmware, and system-level interactions.
  • Verify multi-clock, multi-reset, and multi-power-domain behavior and support hardware/firmware co-verification.
  • Contribute to verification automation, regression infrastructure, CI pipelines, dashboards, and tooling.
  • Participate in architecture/specification/design reviews and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Proven experience with simulation-based verification and RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM (or comparable verification methodology).
  • Experience in verification planning, stimulus development, functional coverage, assertions, scoreboards, and debug.
  • Familiarity with SoC and IP architecture: clocking, reset, interrupts, address maps, and memory-mapped interfaces.
  • Familiarity with one or more protocols/technology areas: AXI, AHB, APB, CHI, PCIe, DDR, high-speed I/O, interconnect, processor subsystems, or security IP.
  • Scripting or programming experience (Python, Perl, TCL, Bash, C, or C++).
  • Strong collaboration, clear technical communication, ownership, and leadership appropriate to a senior role.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with PCIe transaction/link layers, DDR controllers and PHY interfaces, high-speed serial interfaces, or security IP.
  • Low-power verification (UPF), formal methods, assertion-based verification, Portable Stimulus, emulation, or acceleration experience.
  • Experience with performance verification, traffic modeling, stress testing, and SoC-level verification.
  • Familiarity with ARM architectures and platforms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
