Job Title

Senior Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's Solution Engineering team in Raleigh to develop verification for high-performance SoC demonstrators targeting mobile, infrastructure and automotive markets. The role focuses on SoC integration, scenario and performance verification across RTL subsystems.

This is a hands-on engineering role working with distributed RTL design and verification teams to define verification strategy, build testbenches and ensure delivery of silicon-quality designs.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role expects 5+ years of experience in design or verification of compute subsystems or SoCs.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will plan and execute SoC verification activities and collaborate across design, verification and project management.

  • Define and implement SoC integration, scenario and performance verification strategies.
  • Review architecture and design specifications with the project team to derive verification objectives.
  • Craft detailed test plans and track test coverage and results.
  • Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches and directed/random tests; debug test failures.
  • Improve team verification methodologies and incorporate software-based verification techniques.
  • Collaborate with microarchitecture, software and system-performance teams to resolve issues.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers; coordinate with project management on schedules and deliverables.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 5+ years experience in design or verification of sophisticated compute subsystems or SoCs.
  • Solid understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
  • Experience with verification strategies required for complex SoC development, including software-driven techniques.
  • Experience verifying subsystems such as PCIe/CXL, DDRx/LPDDRx and HBM.
  • Proven ability to create and track test plans and verification status.
  • Experience verifying RTL within SoC projects.
  • Low-level programming experience in C and assembler.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Arm-based designs or ARM system architectures.
  • SystemVerilog and verification methodologies (UVM/OVM/e).
  • Formal verification techniques and clock-domain-crossing verification experience.
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Python or similar).
  • Power-aware verification, peripheral driver porting, emulation platform deployment, and hands-on testbench development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a similar technical field is specified in the posting.
