Senior Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the MME MCU/MPU Digital IP verification team responsible for verifying digital IP for automotive and advanced microcontroller products.

Provide technical leadership on complex verification challenges, drive a zero-defect mindset, and mentor a small team of engineers.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Experience guidance in the posting: BSEE with 5+ years, MSEE with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.

Responsibilities

Primary verification responsibilities include design and execution of verification environments and delivery of coverage and debug results.

• Define and execute verification plans.
• Design and implement SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, drivers, monitors, scoreboards, and integrate VIPs.
• Create directed and constrained-random stimulus and develop functional coverage models.
• Develop and maintain SystemVerilog assertions (SVA) and apply formal verification techniques.
• Analyze RTL, functional and assertion coverage; reproduce failures and perform root-cause analysis.
• Demonstrate strong debugging skills across simulation and automated test environments.
• Mentor and grow junior engineers; promote verification best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and Verilog (VHDL is a plus).
• Experience with OVM/UVM and class-based verification methodologies.
• Knowledge of protocols such as DDR, PCIe, AMBA (CHI, ACE, AXI).
• Experience with formal verification methodologies.
• Familiarity with simulation and debug tools; strong test pattern debugging and validation skills.
• Scripting experience in Python or Perl and proficiency with UNIX/Linux.
• Familiarity with functional and code coverage methodologies.
• Experience leveraging AI/LLM-based approaches to improve engineering efficiency (preferred).

Education Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering required as stated: BSEE with 5+ years semiconductor experience, MSEE with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
