Job Title

Senior Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Senior Validation Engineer responsible for leading lab-based validation projects for ASICs and system components. The role coordinates cross-functional teams, manages validation execution and debug activities, and reports technical progress and resourcing needs to leadership.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 10+ years of validation engineering experience as specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute validation projects in a hardware lab environment and coordinate debug to closure.

  • Lead project validation efforts and ensure delivery against schedule and quality targets.
  • Plan and execute test setups, measurement campaigns, and repeatable validation procedures.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (design, firmware, test, systems) to track progress and resolve issues.
  • Report status, risks, and resourcing needs to engineering leadership.
  • Organize and run debug meetings; drive root-cause analysis and action items to closure.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and anticipate technical risks to keep projects on schedule.
  • Perform hands-on measurements: probing, oscilloscope captures, protocol signal analysis, power and thermal testing, and EMI/EMC debug.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required for successful performance in this role.

  • 10+ years of validation engineering experience with a track record of leading complex projects.
  • Proven leadership: guide teams through deep technical issues and competing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional reporting and collaboration.
  • Analytical debug skills and disciplined problem-solving; experience reducing complex debug tasks to root cause.
  • Practical experience using oscilloscopes and probing to capture low-speed, high-speed, and spurious signals.
  • Hands-on experience with serial and bus protocols: I2C, SPI, I3C, UART, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and Infiniband.
  • Experience testing and tuning switching power supplies, including load testing and transient response analysis (Bode/Nyquist).
  • Experience with EMI/EMC product debug techniques.
  • Linux command-line experience for system administration and automated test execution.
  • Extensive thermal testing experience and methodologies for heat-flow and dissipation issues in high-wattage ASIC systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCE), or equivalent practical experience.
