Senior Tools Engineer
Role Summary
Senior Tools/Regression Engineer in the Qualification Hardware Group responsible for developing tools, automation, and regression frameworks to verify hardware and related software. Works closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to deliver end-to-end verification solutions.
Expect ownership of hardware setups, software regression infrastructure, and participation across the full software lifecycle from architecture to production bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior β requires approximately 8+ years of relevant experience in QA, tools, or regression engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Own hardware test setups and auxiliary systems to verify hardware projects.
- Design and implement tools, applications, and automation to maximize test coverage.
- Own and maintain software regression frameworks and test infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional HW/FW/SW teams to define and deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Contribute to large-scale cross-platform SW/HW projects and support bring-up and production phases.
- Participate in software architecture, design, debugging, and problem resolution.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 8+ years in QA, Tools, or Regression Engineering (senior level experience).
- Proficiency in Python and Perl.
- Hands-on experience with Docker for containerized development and testing.
- Experience with Git or comparable version control systems (e.g., P4V).
- Familiarity with databases such as MSSQL and Big Data technologies.
- Experience with Power BI and Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
- Extensive Linux user-space development experience.
- Strong software design, debugging, analytical, and communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Proficiency in Java, C#, and Java Swing GUI development.
- Scripting for data crawling and analysis.
- Familiarity with MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
- Experience with system monitoring and logging tools.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
