Senior Tools Development Engineer

Role Summary

As a Senior Tools Development Engineer on the GPU SWQA team, you will design and build test tools, automation, and AI-driven workflows to validate NVIDIA device drivers and SDKs on Linux. You will work onsite in Pune with engineering teams to expose defects, debug root causes, and improve test coverage and CI/CD testing.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Guides and executes complex automation; expects 4+ years of programming experience and substantial experience with AI-driven test automation and Linux system software.

Responsibilities

Accountable for developing automation, tools, and tests to validate GPU software across Linux platforms and driving automation initiatives.

  • Design and implement automated tests using AI techniques for device drivers and SDKs on Linux.
  • Build tools, utilities, and frameworks (primarily Python) to automate and optimize GPU testing workflows.
  • Develop and execute automated and manual tests; analyze results and report defects.
  • Isolate, debug, and drive resolution of software and integration issues; measure and improve code and test coverage.
  • Create applications and tools to accelerate development and testing; deliver maintainable, documented code.
  • Perform peer code reviews focusing on performance, scalability, and correctness.
  • Estimate and prioritize tasks to meet delivery schedules and report progress to leadership.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Preferred skills are noted where applicable.

  • 4+ years programming experience in Python or equivalent with strong object-oriented programming skills.
  • Practical experience developing Python applications and scripts (data structures, regex, packaging).
  • Experience using AI tools to automate test cases and end-to-end QA workflows.
  • Working knowledge of OS fundamentals and Linux system software; familiarity with Unix and Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with PC I/O architecture and common bus interfaces (PCIe, USB, SATA) and general system architecture.
  • Experience with databases and storage technologies such as SQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills; effective written and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, onsite engineering environment and contribute to CI/CD testing and regression fixes.

Education Requirements

B.S. or B.Tech / M.S. in Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunication, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
