The role reports to Test Operations in the Operations Engineering Department and coordinates with Product Groups and cross-functional teams across APAC (Taiwan, China, Korea) and other regions.
Primary goals are to maintain delivery, improve OEE, yield and cycle time, expand test capacity, and deploy test technology and process improvements into high-volume manufacturing.
Experience Level
Senior role. Preferably more than 3 years of experience in high-volume semiconductor test manufacturing (probe/WLCSP and final test) or equivalent experience in test operations.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day and project responsibilities to ensure test manufacturing meets quality, capacity and KPI targets.
- Interface with Renesas Product Groups and cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Quality, Packaging, Foundry, PMO) across regions for all product lifecycle phases.
- Execute daily test operations with internal factories and OSATs: lot tracking, dispositions, test program releases, hardware troubleshooting and repairs.
- Monitor and improve equipment uptime, tester utilization and OEE; track retest and yield metrics.
- Coordinate probe/final test transfer from NPI to high-volume manufacturing.
- Plan and execute new test capacity expansions (testers, handlers, hardware) to meet demand.
- Deploy new tester/handler technologies and test solutions to sites.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to drive gross margin and process performance.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience required for the role.
- Experience with major ATE tester platforms such as Teradyne UltraFLEX/Flex or Advantest 93k.
- Familiarity with test processes, equipment operations and production planning concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills using methods such as 8D and Why-Why analysis.
- Understanding of test methodology for analog/digital/power products, failure analysis and reliability testing.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong project management capabilities to drive capacity expansions and improvements.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with WLCSP probing hardware, test probers and map merging.
- Experience with Visual Basic or C++ programming.
- Proficiency in statistical data-analysis tools (JMP, Spotfire, etc.).
Education Requirements
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computing or related engineering discipline.
