Senior Test Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
Support test operations in the MSB Test Engineering team by improving tester availability, utilization, and reliability. Deliver engineering solutions, automation, and data-driven insights to reduce downtime and improve production efficiency.
Lead and coach technicians, support new tester setups and qualification, and drive continuous improvement projects using analytics and AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Improve equipment availability and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) through FMEA, design improvements, and continuous improvement projects.
- Define and execute spare parts/inventory strategies to minimize downtime and control cost.
- Track equipment KPIs and deliver reports and dashboards for management review.
- Automate test-equipment data collection and perform assessments to reduce equipment-induced yield loss.
- Apply data analytics and AI-enabled solutions to detect degradation trends and improve maintenance effectiveness.
- Lead manufacturing test support: manage shift technicians, coordinate new tester setups and qualifications, and support production deployments.
- Perform failure analysis, implement workarounds and fixes, and prioritize cross-functional issue resolution.
- Manage test-equipment hardware, software, process changes, and related documentation.
- Execute continuous-improvement projects, develop automation/software to monitor the production floor, and pursue test-time reductions for mature products.
- Prepare training and certification materials, conduct training/certification, and coach team members on automation, analytics, and AI tools.

Must-have: Hands-on experience with manufacturing test equipment, operational problem-solving, equipment reliability and downtime reduction, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective cross-functional communication.

Must-have: Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing practical engineering solutions in a production environment.

Preferred: Proficiency in Python, C++, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI; familiarity with automation and system integration.

Preferred: Experience with predictive maintenance, equipment automation, Industry 4.0 or smart manufacturing technologies, and digital manufacturing solutions.

Preferred: Exposure to data analytics, AI/ML techniques, equipment health monitoring, and MES systems; experience developing automation or monitoring software.

Other: Ability to prepare training materials and deliver certification; responsible and appropriate use of AI-enabled tools in daily work.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, Computer, Data Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; relevant industry experience is expected.
