Senior Test Equipment Engineer

Role Summary

Provide engineering support for test equipment and test operations at Micron's Singapore Back End Manufacturing (MSB). Drive equipment availability, efficiency (OEE), and reliability through data-driven analysis, automation, AI-enabled tools, continuous improvement projects, and hands-on troubleshooting.

Lead and coach shift technicians, support new tester setup and qualification, and deliver engineering solutions that reduce downtime and improve production yield and utilization.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include maintaining and improving test equipment performance, supporting production, and delivering continuous improvement and automation solutions.

• Improve equipment availability and OEE via FMEA, design improvements, root-cause analysis, and CI projects.
• Manage spare inventory strategies to minimize downtime and cost.
• Monitor equipment performance, generate reports and dashboards, and present findings for management review.
• Automate test-equipment data collection and use analytics/AI to detect degradation trends and reduce equipment-induced yield loss.
• Lead shift technicians and collaborate with manufacturing to meet output and quality goals.
• Set up, qualify, and validate new testers; coordinate logistics and facilities for installations.
• Support production deployments, coordinate new product runs, troubleshoot failures, and implement timely fixes or workarounds.
• Develop software and automation to monitor production-floor test activity and improve productivity.
• Document changes, create training/certification materials, and coach team members on tools and best practices.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools responsibly into daily work to improve efficiency and decision making.

• Must-have: Hands-on experience with test equipment, manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, downtime reduction, and operational problem solving.

• Must-have: Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills; experience coaching or supervising technicians.
• Must-have: Experience with automation, system integration, and common productivity tools.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with predictive maintenance, Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, and equipment health monitoring technologies.
• Nice-to-have: Experience or familiarity with data analytics and AI/ML applied to manufacturing and equipment monitoring.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with programming and analytics tools such as Python, C++, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or JMP.
• Other: Ability to develop automation and reporting solutions, and to document processes, lessons learned, and performance management for direct reports.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, Computer, Data Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; or equivalent relevant experience.
