Senior Test Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Test Engineer will develop and optimize test solutions across Semtech's product lines, from first-silicon bring-up through high-volume manufacturing. The role sits on the Product and Test Engineering team in the Asia hub and supports validation, characterization, and production test activities for mixed technologies (optical, MEMS, power, wireless).

Senior - typically requires 5+ years of test engineering experience in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Accountable for test program development, test hardware, and data-driven test optimization.

• Lead development and debug of test programs for product validation and characterization.
• Perform in-depth analysis of test results to identify failure modes, trends, and opportunities for test optimization.
• Own test hardware setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated test equipment (ATE).
• Document test procedures and specifications; produce technical reports on test coverage and correlation studies.
• Drive test-time reduction and continuous-improvement initiatives while maintaining test quality and reliability.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience followed by relevant preferred skills.

• Must-have: 5+ years of test engineering experience in the semiconductor industry focused on validation, characterization, or production test.
• Must-have: Strong programming skills in C/C++ and/or Python for test development and data analysis.
• Must-have: Deep understanding of ATE test methodologies including digital, mixed-signal, and parametric testing.
• Must-have: Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated test equipment and test systems.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity or hands-on experience with Advantest V93K and/or Teradyne UltraFLEX/FLEX platforms.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with wafer-level (CP) and/or final test (FT) environments, probe card and load board design, and hardware bring-up.
• Nice-to-have: Strong statistical skills and experience with PAT, SBL, SYL, GR&R, and yield improvement techniques.
• Nice-to-have: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate best practices across multi-site teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (as stated in the posting).
