Role Summary

The Senior Test Engineer leads test engineering for assigned products at Lumentum Thailand (Navanakorn), working across Manufacturing, R&D, Product and Process Engineering, Quality, and Global Engineering to ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle.

This is a hands-on senior role responsible for test strategy, test development, reliability validation, NPI support, and cross-functional technical leadership.

Experience Level

Senior - typically 6–10+ years of experience in test engineering or reliability engineering in high-tech manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include owning test strategy and executing validation, reliability, and production test activities to support product introduction and manufacturing.

• Own test strategy, coverage, and execution for assigned products; act as primary technical owner for test issues and escalations.
• Define, develop, and maintain manufacturing and reliability test plans, test specifications, and coverage requirements.
• Plan and execute reliability testing and analyze test/reliability data to identify failure trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support Design for Testability (DfT) and Design for Reliability (DfR) in collaboration with R&D and Product Engineering.
• Execute NPI, product transfer, and production ramp activities; support product qualification, documentation release, and engineering change management.
• Participate in yield, quality, and cost-performance analysis; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing and field issues.
• Collaborate with local and global teams to communicate technical status, risks, and data-driven recommendations.
• Comply with and promote EHS policies and safe work practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role.

• 6–10+ years of experience in test engineering or reliability engineering in high-tech manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing test development, execution, and data analysis.
• Experience supporting reliability testing, qualification, and validation activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Effective English communication and ability to work in a global team environment.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical discussions and escalate/resolution of test issues.
• Nice-to-have: background in optical, photonics, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Physics, or related field) is required. Master's degree is preferred. The posting indicates technical degrees in engineering or related physical sciences; no specific certifications were listed.
