Role Summary

The Networking System Product Engineering team is hiring a Test Design and Validation Engineer to design and maintain automated tests and test infrastructure for networking switches and adapters. The role partners with HW, ASIC and SW teams to ensure high product quality and reliable production testing.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 5+ years of related software development and test experience (as stated in the posting).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing automated tests, operating and improving test infrastructure, and supporting production test activities.

• Design and develop automated tests for networking switches and adapters, collaborating with HW, ASIC, and SW teams.
• Define and develop tests from development stage through final network-system test.
• Develop and maintain test infrastructure, tools, and automation to improve workflow and productivity.
• Use test suites to find, debug and resolve production process issues; troubleshoot HW and SW faults.
• Support production lines: deployments, patches, maintenance, and bug fixes for existing code.
• Execute regression, performance, functional and security tests; produce test progress and summary reports.
• Drive projects to completion under schedule pressure and across multiple concurrent projects.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items follow.

• 5+ years of related software development and design experience.
• 3+ years of proven Python development experience.
• Proficient with version control systems (preferably Git) and Linux-based development.
• Experience with software/hardware integration and using HW lab measurement equipment.
• Experience deploying large-scale automation solutions for sizable software teams.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-analysis skills.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with global teams; self-motivated team player.

Education Requirements

BSc/MSc or equivalent engineering degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (the posting also allows equivalent practical experience).
