Role Summary

Senior Test Engineer based in Batu Kawan, Penang supporting production engineering for power/compute/electrical systems. Lead development, deployment and maintenance of test programs, test equipment and procedures to ensure product quality and production yield.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role typically requires at least 5 years of experience in Test Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for design, implementation and support of product test and test infrastructure across in-circuit, functional, environmental and system levels.

• Lead development and coordination of test programs, test models and test plans.
• Design, procure, install and calibrate test instruments, fixtures and control systems.
• Develop instrument drivers and automated test software; modify test code and frameworks.
• Analyze test data, perform failure and root-cause analysis, and produce technical reports.
• Resolve test yield issues and implement corrective actions to improve production quality.
• Train and support floor staff, test technicians and operators on hardware, software and troubleshooting.
• Perform equipment verification, integration and validation in production environments.
• Develop and manage quotes for test development, hardware and software enhancements.
• Coordinate third-party development of test programs, fixtures and ESS activities when required.
• Create and maintain process and test documentation; define test sequences and conditions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience, plus a short list of preferred capabilities.

• Must: Minimum ~5 years' experience in test engineering covering functional testing, burn-in and automated testing in high-technology electronics or related industries.
• Must: Experience developing test software and hardware, and working with test automation and diagnostic tests.
• Preferred: Familiarity with NPI test setup and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development.
• Preferred: Automation or API development experience to improve test processes and throughput.
• Preferred: Experience with languages and tools such as Python, LabVIEW, Perl and developing instrument drivers.
• Preferred: Knowledge of DFT/testability analysis, test fixture mechanical/electrical design, and environmental stress screening (ESS) testing.

Education Requirements

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training. (The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience.)
