Senior Tegra Software Engineer

Role Summary

Work on low-level software and firmware for NVIDIA Tegra system-on-chips with emphasis on security, boot, and silicon bring-up. The role sits on a hardware-software engineering team that collaborates with architecture, silicon, and partner teams to deliver secure, production-quality SoC firmware and system software.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on development, validation, and integration of security and system software for Tegra SoCs.

  • Develop bare-metal firmware, system software, and prototype applications for security use cases and proofs of concept.
  • Debug security and system software issues on Tegra SoCs, from pre-silicon simulation through power-on bring-up.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Root of Trust (ROT) and secure boot components within the cryptographic security stack.
  • Specify and implement test cases; improve test automation, validation, and software quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with architecture, hardware, and software teams and engage with technology partners to ensure integration and performance.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; listed concisely.

  • 5+ years of relevant software development experience (system/firmware level).
  • Strong system software engineering skills and experience debugging low-level problems.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly; experience with RUST or Ada/Spark is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of operating system internals, embedded systems, and security software.
  • Experience with silicon lifecycle activities: pre-silicon simulation, emulation, test validation, and board bring-up.
  • Familiarity with cryptography, secure boot, Root of Trust concepts, and runtime security services preferred.
  • Effective communicator and able to work independently and in cross-functional teams; demonstrated teamwork and mentorship ability.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
