Job Title

Senior Technical Support Engineer - Electromagnetism

Role Summary

Provide technical support and engineering guidance for electromagnetics and high-frequency electronics simulation workflows. Work with customers and internal teams to diagnose simulation issues, reproduce defects, validate fixes, and improve product workflows and documentation.

Experience Level

Senior-level. No explicit years-of-experience requirement stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include direct customer support, troubleshooting, and cross-team collaboration to improve product quality and usability.

  • Provide technical support for HFSS, HFSS 3D Layout, SIwave, Q3D, AEDT Circuit and related electromagnetics tools.
  • Troubleshoot signal integrity, power integrity, crosstalk, impedance, and eye-diagram analysis across package, PCB, and connector workflows.
  • Advise on simulation setup, meshing strategy, solver selection, and post-processing to produce valid, actionable results.
  • Create reproducible test cases, document product issues, file defect reports, verify fixes, and participate in field testing of releases.
  • Evaluate new releases against real customer use cases to assess readiness and usability.
  • Collaborate with product development, field teams, and senior support engineers to relay customer workflow insights.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge base and create enablement content to scale support capability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and work-authorisation requirements. Preferred items are noted when present.

  • Hands-on experience with HFSS, SIwave, Ansys AEDT, or comparable CAE/EDA simulation platforms in a design or support role.
  • Working knowledge in at least one area: signal integrity, power integrity, crosstalk analysis, impedance simulation, or eye-diagram analysis.
  • Familiarity with circuit-level and timing analysis relevant to signal integrity and compliance testing.
  • Experience with package, PCB, or connector design workflows and associated engineering processes.
  • Understanding of microwave and antenna fundamentals, including S-parameters and wave propagation.
  • Ability to triage ambiguous customer issues, prioritize multiple open cases, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% for customer support, training, or team collaboration.
  • U.S. work authorization required; U.S. citizenship preferred where required by customer, export control, or government contract requirements.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field with coursework or focus in high-frequency electromagnetics. A Master's degree is listed as a plus. The posting allows related technical fields; no certification requirements or explicit "equivalent experience" language was provided.
