Senior Technical Program Manager
LumilensJob Title
Senior Technical Program Manager
Role Summary
Lead complex, cross-functional programs spanning silicon, optical systems, photonics integration, advanced packaging, bring-up, validation, and system-level delivery. Drive high-quality silicon and optical products from development through validation and production readiness on aggressive timelines.
Work with engineering, vendors, and partners to coordinate milestones and remove program-level risks while contributing to the company’s photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 10+ years of experience managing complex hardware programs across silicon, optical systems, integration, and product qualification.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end program execution and provide clear visibility to leadership and stakeholders.
- Plan, schedule, and execute programs for silicon, optical modules, photonics integration, advanced packaging, bring-up, validation, and systems development.
- Partner with engineering leads to estimate, prioritize, and sequence work while balancing quality, scope, schedule, and resources.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, and resourcing aligned with business objectives.
- Proactively identify, track, and mitigate schedule, technical, and quality risks; escalate when needed.
- Facilitate technical reviews, recurring program meetings, and operational checkpoints across the project lifecycle.
- Deliver concise status reports and communications to management, customers, and external partners.
- Own major milestones such as tapeouts, optical subsystem bring-up, EVT/DVT activities, validation, and qualification readiness.
- Coordinate with vendors, OSATs, contract manufacturers, and customers on program-related activities.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 10+ years leading complex hardware programs across silicon, optical systems, photonics integration, bring-up, validation, and qualification.
- Solid understanding of hardware development cycles, including silicon tapeout processes, optical subsystem development, integration planning, and cross-functional execution.
- Experience with product bring-up, validation, and qualification flows (EVT/DVT and system integration).
- Prior experience in semiconductors (chip design, physical design, or test engineering preferred).
- Proven ability to influence without authority and drive results in a matrixed environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with program management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Asana, or Smartsheet.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical presentations.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with silicon photonics, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), laser technologies, or co-packaged optics.
- Familiarity with development and manufacturing ramp for 800G/1.6T transceivers, optical engines, or high-speed interconnects.
- Experience with advanced packaging (chiplets, 2.5D/3D integration) and heterogeneous integration.
- Knowledge of yield improvement, manufacturing readiness, supply-chain scaling, and high-volume optical product production.
- Experience establishing program management processes in startup or high-growth environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated). No explicit mention of equivalent-experience language or graduate degrees in the posting.
