Job Title

Senior Systems Software Engineer, Data Center Platform Enablement

Role Summary

Work on bring-up, integration, validation and troubleshooting of GPU-rack compute tray platforms for NVIDIA data center servers. Collaborate with hardware, firmware and software architects to ensure platforms meet functional and manufacturing requirements prior to deployment.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 8+ years of relevant industry experience as an individual contributor.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include platform bring-up, validation, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Bring up and debug early server prototypes; perform power-on test and lab validation.
  • Integrate and validate CPU, GPU, memory, NIC, PCIe, NVMe SSD, and cooling subsystems at platform level.
  • Review schematics and influence hardware/system design with engineering teams.
  • Use simulation and emulation tools (e.g., QEMU) to validate early designs and accelerate development.
  • Develop diagnostics and automation to qualify system software and firmware stacks.
  • Support manufacturing flows, firmware updates, BOM change signoff, and process optimization.
  • Drive root-cause analysis for bring-up failures and coordinate with ODMs, vendors, and customers for issue resolution.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; desirable items noted.

  • Strong experience in computer system and firmware architecture and in delivering enterprise server products.
  • Experience with CPLD/FPGA design and RTL.
  • Deep knowledge of low-level interfaces and platform initialization: I2C, SPI, PCIe, JTAG, system boot and PCIe enumeration, and high-speed I/O.
  • Experience collaborating with hardware teams, ODMs and vendors to introduce and support server platforms.
  • Proficient in C/C++ and scripting (bash, Python); strong embedded Linux debugging skills.
  • Experience using simulation/emulation tools for early validation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; self-starter with attention to quality.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with early power-on debug and applying AI tools to accelerate design and debug.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. (The posting also specifies 8+ years of relevant experience for this senior role.)
