Job Title

Senior Systems Software Engineer, CUDA Driver - Multi-Node and Memory Model

Role Summary

Develop and deliver features in the CUDA Driver focused on memory model semantics and multi-node scalability for high-performance AI and compute workloads. Work on a cross-functional team that architects, implements, and tests system-level software to enable efficient GPU-accelerated computation across nodes and operating systems.

Experience Level

Senior β€” minimum of 8 years of related development experience; multiple positions at different seniority levels may be available.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Architect and implement features related to CUDA's memory model and multi-node scalability.
  • Coordinate and drive development across multiple engineering teams.
  • Define improvements to CUDA APIs and the programming model for multi-node and memory semantics.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested system software in C/C++ for multiple operating systems.
  • Debug and optimize multithreaded and distributed system behavior.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Strong C and C++ programming skills.
  • At least 8 years of professional software development experience working with large codebases.
  • Proven experience driving cross-team projects and coordinating deliverables.
  • Familiarity with OS interfaces for threads, process control, and virtual memory.
  • Experience writing and debugging multithreaded programs and system-level code for multiple OSes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with parallel computing frameworks (for example, PyTorch) and low-latency AI inference.
  • Understanding of system-level architecture: interconnects, memory hierarchy, interrupts, and memory-mapped I/O.
  • Knowledge of memory coherence and consistency models.
  • Background in kernel-mode development and Linux or Windows systems software development.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
