Senior Systems Software Engineer, CUDA Driver

Role Summary

The Senior Systems Software Engineer will design and implement features for the CUDA Driver, a core platform component that enables general-purpose GPU computation. The role works on a cross-functional team to deliver performant, reliable driver software across multiple operating systems.

Primary focus: system-level software, device-driver interfaces, and coordinating work across teams to advance CUDA's programming model and APIs.

Experience Level

Senior β€” minimum 7 years of related software development experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and coordinating development of CUDA Driver features.

  • Architect, implement, and drive new device-driver and runtime features.
  • Coordinate and lead development across multiple teams and large codebases.
  • Define forward-looking improvements to CUDA APIs and the programming model.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested C/C++ code for multiple operating systems.
  • Debug, optimize, and test multithreaded and system-level software.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Strong C and C++ programming skills.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant development experience.
  • Experience driving projects across multiple teams.
  • Experience working with large codebases.
  • Knowledge of operating system interfaces for threads, process control, and virtual memory.
  • Experience writing and debugging multithreaded programs.
  • Good written communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with parallel computing and GPU programming.
  • Understanding of system-level architecture (interconnects, memory hierarchy, interrupts, MMIO).
  • Knowledge of memory coherence and consistency models.
  • Kernel-mode development experience.
  • Experience with Linux or Windows systems software development.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
