Role Summary

Senior systems software engineer on NVIDIA's Advanced Technology Group focused on building advanced computational methods for semiconductor manufacturing and design. The role combines algorithm development, GPU acceleration, and production engineering to improve semiconductor yield and time-to-market.

Position is based in Hillsboro, OR with a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

Deliver software and systems that accelerate semiconductor manufacturing and design, from research to production.

  • Design and implement advanced computational methods for semiconductor fabrication and design.
  • Exploit GPU acceleration to scale solutions and improve performance.
  • Drive strategy and innovation; move projects from invention to production in small, cross-functional teams.
  • Scale software to efficiently use millions of compute hours and process petabytes of data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maintain semiconductor development cadence and improve yield.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution:

  • 5+ years of research or industry experience in relevant fields.
  • Proven software development background in advanced computational methods for semiconductor manufacturing and design.
  • Experience delivering complex software solutions for semiconductor fabrication and design at scale (large compute and data volumes).
  • Track record of innovation, such as inventing computer algorithms or demonstrated technical leadership in related domains.
  • Experience exploiting GPU architectures for high-performance computing workloads.

Nice-to-have:

  • Expertise in massively distributed computing, computational geometry, diffractive optics, or AI applied to semiconductor problems.
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills within matrixed organizations.

Education Requirements

MS required (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering or technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
