Senior Systems Software Engineer - Advanced Technology Group

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Advanced Technology Group to design and implement GPU-accelerated, large-scale computational methods for semiconductor manufacturing and design. The role focuses on moving algorithms from research to production to improve semiconductor yield and time to market.

You will work in a small, cross-functional team, set technical direction for projects, and collaborate with domain experts across computing, computational geometry, optics, and AI.

Senior β€” 5+ years of research or industry experience in relevant fields.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, developing, and scaling production software for advanced computational problems in semiconductor manufacturing and design.

  • Develop and optimize GPU-accelerated algorithms and software solutions.
  • Translate research and prototypes into production-quality systems.
  • Scale systems to efficiently use millions of compute hours and handle petabytes of data.
  • Collaborate with engineers and domain experts to define technical strategy and deliverables.
  • Drive innovation and contribute novel algorithms or methods to the field.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and attributes.

  • 5+ years of relevant research or industry experience.
  • Proven track record of algorithm invention or significant technical innovation.
  • Experience developing and delivering complex software for semiconductor fabrication and design.
  • Experience scaling software for very large compute workloads and large data volumes.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to influence in a matrixed environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Expertise in massively distributed computing, computational geometry, diffractive optics, or applied AI.
  • Experience specifically optimizing software for GPU architectures at scale.

Education Requirements

MS in Computer Science or Engineering required; PhD preferred. Equivalent practical experience is accepted.
