Senior Systems Engineer - Magnetic and Inductive Sensor

Role Summary

Senior Systems Engineer on the Inductive and Magnetic Position Sensor product line. Lead product definition, system-level modeling, and customer technical support to deliver position sensor solutions for automotive and industrial applications.

Experience Level

Senior level. The role requires 5+ years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining system requirements, validating sensor concepts, and supporting customer integrations.

  • Lead product definition and translate market/customer requirements into system and IC-level specifications.
  • Define system architectures; perform system-level modeling, magnetic simulation, and prototyping to validate concepts prior to silicon.
  • Collaborate with product development, validation, test, marketing, and field teams to align product requirements with target applications (including robotics and automotive).
  • Perform system-level and application-based lab testing to verify performance and functionality under real-world conditions.
  • Provide technical guidance for customer design-in and system integration of magnetic and inductive position sensors.
  • Develop internal and customer-facing design/simulation tools, application notes, technical presentations, and demo platforms.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; nice-to-have items are noted.

  • Minimum 5+ years industry experience in sensor systems or related roles.
  • Deep expertise in magnetic sensing technologies, specifically TMR and Hall-effect sensors (must-have).
  • Experience with inductive sensing (preferred).
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills (C++, C#, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent).
  • Practical PCB design experience (Altium or equivalent).
  • Extensive hands-on electronics laboratory experience and test methodology for sensor characterization and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally to support customers.

Education Requirements

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
