Senior System Software Engineer — SDK and Algorithms

Role Summary

Design and implement computer vision, signal-processing and machine-learning software and the SDK for the Programmable Vision Accelerator (PVA) in the Tegra SoC platform. Work on highly optimized algorithms for specialized VLIW/SIMD DSP hardware and enhance the PVA SDK used by internal and external customers.

Collaborate with other developers and customers to map, optimize, debug, and test complex algorithms on heterogeneous accelerator hardware.

Responsibilities

Deliver production-quality software, tooling, and SDK components to enable efficient development on the PVA accelerator.

• Develop and improve the PVA SDK for internal and external users.
• Design, implement, and optimize computer-vision and signal-processing algorithms for PVA.
• Assist customers to map, optimize, and debug algorithms on the PVA hardware.
• Provide technical leadership and influence SDK feature direction.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and enable automated testing and profiling.

Requirements

Required skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

• Proven record developing high-performance computer vision, image-processing, radar or lidar signal-processing software on DSPs, GPUs and/or CPUs.
• Deep familiarity with SDKs for heterogeneous accelerators, including compilers, debuggers, profilers, runtime APIs and documentation.
• Strong C++ development skills, including low-level debugging and performance profiling.
• Experience with Linux-based or QNX development environments.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership on software projects.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience designing and shipping a programming model for programmable accelerators and programming SIMD/VLIW processors.
• Experience with compiler, debugger, linker or toolchain development (particularly LLVM).
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, IEC 61508 or equivalent quality/safety processes.
• Experience using agentic AI tools or LLM-based workflows to accelerate engineering tasks and developer tooling.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
