Role Summary

Join the Halos team to design and implement system software for NVIDIA's safety-focused edge AI platforms used in autonomous vehicles and robotics. The role sits at the intersection of embedded systems, operating systems, virtualization, security, and accelerated computing.

This position focuses on building high-integrity platform software for mixed-criticality environments across QNX, Linux, and hypervisor-based systems.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 8+ years of experience in system software architecture and development for real-time embedded systems.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include platform software architecture, implementation, and cross-team integration.

  • Architect, design, develop, and debug system software across QNX, Linux, and hypervisor environments.
  • Design and implement BSP, boot, drivers, device management, diagnostics, and platform services for NVIDIA SoCs and edge AI platforms.
  • Design and develop I/O virtualization and mixed-criticality solutions.
  • Develop safe and secure software in line with ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 requirements.
  • Bring up and optimize next-generation platforms working closely with ASIC, firmware, OS, safety, security, and platform teams.
  • Apply formal methods to architect and develop high-integrity software.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate debugging, testing, code review, and documentation.
  • Design debugging, tracing, logging, and performance-analysis solutions to improve developer experience.
  • Diagnose complex issues that span multiple components in a large software stack.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and operating system fundamentals.
  • Proven experience designing solutions for complex system problems.
  • Strong C and/or Ada/SPARK programming and debugging skills.
  • Practical experience with real-time operating systems (QNX, RT Linux) and embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ARM architecture and low-level software for ARM v8-based SoCs.
  • Experience with virtualization, hypervisors, and I/O virtualization design.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools, performance analysis, and system analyzer tools.
  • Practical use of AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, or documentation.
  • Experience with safety/security analysis methods (e.g., FMEA, threat modeling) and development practices.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
