Senior System Software Engineer, GPU Server
Role Summary
Work on next-generation high-speed interconnect and IO technologies for GPU and HPC servers. Collaborate with hardware architects, silicon designers, driver and platform software teams to develop validation, diagnostic, and productization software and infrastructure.
Experience Level
Senior-level - typically 8+ years of related hardware/software experience.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on building software infrastructure and diagnostics to validate new processor and IO hardware across the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with architecture, hardware and driver teams throughout product development.
- Design and implement software tools and infrastructure for chip development, validation, and productization.
- Assess new hardware features and architect diagnostic/validation software, including use of pre-beta CUDA extensions.
- Develop robust, efficient system-level test and validation solutions that exercise hardware and firmware.
- Debug complex system issues across software and hardware boundaries; drive problems to resolution.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional qualities.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills and systems-level software experience.
- Solid foundation in operating systems fundamentals, algorithms, and computer architecture.
- Experience working close to hardware and contributing to large system software code bases.
- Deep problem solving and debugging skills; attention to engineering rigor.
- Ability to self-manage, demonstrate technical leadership, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and IO technologies; experience with PCIe, NVLink, InfiniBand, or Ethernet is a plus.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
