Job Title

Senior System Software Engineer, Firmware – NVLink

Role Summary

Lead firmware development and verification for NVLink high-speed interconnect across next-generation GPU platforms. Work spans firmware implementation, verification, silicon bring-up, and automation in close collaboration with architecture and hardware teams across Bangalore and US sites.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 10+ years of experience in firmware or software development and verification.

Responsibilities

Own architecture, implementation, and verification of NVLink firmware and related infrastructure; drive delivery from design through post-silicon validation.

  • Define technical architecture and roadmap for NVLink and interconnect firmware; implement high-leverage solutions in C, C++, and Python.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of complex interconnect features and their verification.
  • Design correctness models, verification plans, and test cases (primarily in Python) for pre- and post-silicon validation.
  • Lead silicon bring-up, design-for-debug, and program-level validation with architecture and hardware teams.
  • Define verification methodology, quality gates, and automation to scale validation.
  • Advance debug and root-cause tooling, including AI-assisted approaches, to accelerate failure resolution.
  • Mentor engineers, raise technical quality, and de-risk cross-generation issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and attributes.

  • 10+ years of firmware or software development and verification experience.
  • Proficient in Python, C, and C++; strong object-oriented design skills.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture, microprocessors, and microcontroller fundamentals.
  • Expert debugging and analytical skills across the hardware/software boundary.
  • Proven technical leadership: setting direction, mentoring, and improving team quality.
  • Effective collaborator and communicator in multi-national, multi-time-zone teams.
  • Self-motivated, creative problem-solver with a bias toward rigorous testing; comfortable across development, verification, and infrastructure work.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in test automation and test-case framework design.
  • Familiarity with secure development techniques (threat modeling, static/dynamic analysis, fuzzing).
  • Experience with multi-core/multi-threaded programming and high-performance computing, interconnects, or networking protocols.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
