Senior System Software Architect, AI Networking
Role Summary
Architect system and software solutions for high-performance AI networking platforms (Spectrum-X, InfiniBand, NVLink). Lead cross-layer design, run proofs-of-concept, and coordinate across hardware, firmware, system software, and research teams to deliver production architectures.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 5 years of relevant experience in VLSI, firmware, or software design/architecture.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define next-generation software architecture for Spectrum-X, InfiniBand, and NVLink systems.
- Research and run proofs-of-concept; evaluate software and hardware trade-offs and impacts.
- Translate solutions across layers, from algorithms and high-level software to firmware and hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, VLSI, firmware, system software, research) to ensure successful execution.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- At least 5 years of proven experience in VLSI, firmware, or software design/architectural roles.
- Strong understanding of networking layers and software–hardware co-design.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, critical-thinking, and project-management skills.
- Ability to operate on multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with network protocols such as InfiniBand, IP, TCP, or RoCE.
- Experience with network topologies, large language models (LLM) or deep-learning research/design.
- Advanced architectural experience spanning software–hardware co-design.
Education Requirements
Required: B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Preferred: M.Sc. or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
